Tim Fredrickson

Cello

He/Him/His

Tim began teaching in 2021 at the Monroe Street Arts Center. Tim has played cello for over 25 years and has been fortunate to perform in multiple symphonies, chamber orchestras, quartets, and musicals. Tim’s musical interests include small ensemble work (duets, trios, and quartets), string ensemble jazz, baroque, and working with new musicians to help them discover their own musical potential. Tim takes a relaxed approach in teaching cello and honors the unique strengths his students bring to the space. He encourages his students to embrace a musical spirit while learning the mechanics of music. Tim has worked in education for the last 16 years and feels the learning process should be low-pressure and enjoyable. Some hobbies of Tim’s outside of music include traveling, reading, writing, architectural restoration, anything coffee related, and spending time with his family, including his dog Ditto.
