In this 3-week workshop, we will explore the process of making sculptural moss embroidery. We will incorporate embroidery floss, beading, and real wood to create a small bed of moss.
In the first class, we'll discuss how to plan our moss pieces and start creating the understructure. We will then look at the differences in texture using different types of embroidery stitches, primarily French knots and turkey tail.
In our second class, we'll talk about adding wood and beading.
In the last class, we'll discuss finishing techniques, get them into their frame, and admire our collection of moss gardens.
Provided in this class is a kit with all your supplies and an informational booklet with tips and up-close examples of the instruction given in class.
