Artist Collaboration Series:

Moss Embroidery

with Ren DeLassor

18+

Wednesdays, October 8th - 22nd

6:00 - 8:00 pm

$120

Back by popular demand, for those that missed when we offered this class last year!

In this workshop we will explore the process of making sculptural moss embroidery. We will incorporate embroidery floss, beading, and real wood to create a small bed of moss.

In the first class we'll talk about how to plan our moss pieces and get started creating the understructure. We will then look at the differences in texture using different types of embroidery stitches, primarily french knots and turkey tail.

In our second class we'll talk about adding wood and beading.

And in the last class we'll discuss finishing techniques, get them into their frame and admire our collection of moss gardens.

Provided in this class is a kit with all your supplies and an informational booklet with tips and up close examples of instructions.

Please Note: Class end times will vary each week: 2 hours for the first class 10/8 (6-8 pm), 1.5 hrs for the second class 10/15 (6-7:30 pm), and 1 hr for the last class 10/22 (6-7 pm)
