Sand Mold Carving Workshop

with FeLion Studios

Ages 12+, and an adult 18+

Thursday, June 25th

5:30 - 7:30 pm

$160

Explore the art of high-relief sculpture through the sand-carving process, a hands-on mold-making technique for cast-iron art. Participants will carve a custom design into a pre-made sand mold, learning how to create textures, visual depths, and translate an idea onto a sand mold and have it transform into a molten iron version of those efforts.

The workshop covers techniques, creative possibilities, and design considerations for reductive sand carving, along with a video presentation of an iron pour event, connecting the mold-making done in class to the metal casting that follows.

Finished iron castings will be available for pickup at MSAC on Friday, 7/10/26.

Supplies included, and no experience needed.

This workshop is designed for children 12yr+ to attend with a grown-up. Your ticket price will include two spots- one for you and one for your child.

Please be sure to REGISTER ONLY the child that will be attending.

Registration deadline: 7/1/26. Class min of 3 to run.
